What is required before you purchase a Fort A.P. Hill Fishing permit?
All anglers must have a Virginia State Fishing license or Caroline County Fishing License.
Fort A.P. Hill permit types and fees:
General Permit: $20.00/year (from date of purchase)
Senior Citizen (age 65+)/Disable Permit: $20.00 lifetime
Five Day: $5.00 for 5 consecutive days from the date of purchase
Persons less than 15 years of age: Free
Trout Stocking Program
Beaver Dam Pond is the only pond that is stocked with trout starting in January and running until April. All anglers must have a Fort A.P. Trout Pass Fees:
Adult (ages 16-64) Daily Pass: $6.00
Senior/Youth Daily Pass: $5.00
There are over 25 ponds/lakes and one creek available for dipping herring. Hours of operation for fishing are from dusk to dawn, except Mill Creek, hours of operation for Mill Creek are 24 hours daily. The majority of the pond/lakes have excess for boats. Boats are allowed in the ponds/lakes but no gas motors are allowed in the water. These ponds/lakes have a variety of fish species ranging from Large Mouth Bass, Catfish, Chain Pickerels, Pan fish, and Bowfin.
